Brecon Women's Festival 28 February - 12 March 2013
Plans continue apace for this our second 'Brecon Women's Festival' (to mark International Women’s Day on Friday March 8th). We are pleased to offer an extended programme this year - the festival will run from Thursday February 28th to Tuesday March 12th and promises a truly eclectic and inclusive line-up with something to appeal to every taste.
Brecon Women's Festival 2013 will be officially launched by internationally acclaimed Baroque violinist Rachel Podger on Friday March 1st – 6.30pm at The Andrew Lamont Gallery, Theatr Brycheiniog with the opening of 'Hiraeth'. All welcome
Among the highlights in this year's programme are an exhibition of new work by Women Artists in response to the theme 'Hiraeth' at Theatr Brycheiniog, A series of workshops followed by a reading and Q&A by the esteemed leading Welsh poet Menna Elfyn at The Hours Bookshop,and 'Strong Women and a Couple of Men' a talk for 'Breconshire Local & Family History Society' by Deanna LeBoff on Women's Suffrage and how the Ayrton family helped women get the vote.
